SGX License
SGX is distributed under a pre-agreed Software License Agreement between Speech Graphics Ltd and the user. Your license entitles you to:
a specific number of concurrent seats for each of the tools — SGX Producer, SGX Director and SGX Studio
one or more languages*
any special features you’ve purchased
With an evaluation or purchase of SGX, you will receive a license file (.lic
) that provides credentials to our cloud-based license server. The license file will be required during installation. SGX requires an active internet connection to contact the license server. You will also have to open two network ports, which will be specified when you receive the license file.
*Each language you license will entitle you to all of the dialects of that language. For example, licensing English entitles you to English_US, English_GB_EAW, and English_GB_SCT.
Floating seats
Under a given license, each of the tools has its own pool of allocated seats. For example, you might have:
2 seats of SGX Producer
2 seats of SGX Director
2 seats of SGX Studio (whether Maya or Unreal)
When a product is launched, it acquires and holds one of the seats from the license. Once the tool is closed, the seat is released and is available for someone else to use.
Taking the seat counts above as an example, if two instances of SGX Producer are currently running, no one can launch a third instance; however, this does not prevent users from launching SGX Studio or SGX Director, which come from separate pools.
